First of all, thanks to all who have purchased and/or used any of my five books about fossils. Many of you have made kind comments, which have been most gratifying to me.
My first fossil book, Fossil Collecting in the Mid-Atlantic States, was published in 1991 by the Johns Hopkins University Press. The manuscript was originally entitled Fossil Dreams and contained numerous poems and drawings that were intended to convey my whimsical and mystical feelings about fossils and fossil collecting. Johns Hopkins correctly pointed out that this material would not appeal to everyone, and persuaded me to rewrite the book as a field guide.
is now available! It contains 47 unpublished drawings, plus photographs of specimens
and drawings from my other books on fossils. Click on the cover below
